Happy Birthday to Me!

A few weeks ago, I celebrated my 31st birthday. It was a great weekend. I have yet to have one of those birthdays where you feel completely devasted for turning another year older. The weekend started with these being sent to my office on Friday morning...Faron did good!

The evening started with a group of us getting together at McNellies for some adult beverages and Irish Pub food.

Group photo (L>R): Carrie, Me, Mel, Gibby, Tallboy, Julie Faron, Benny & Det

Girls

Carrie was able to come out with us. I hadn't seen her in so long. I was so excited she was able to make it. We picked up right where we left off...a good sign of a GREAT FRIENDSHIP. Love ya, Care Bear.

Julie and TB were in town for Easter and decided to extend their trip for some family time with Katie and Rob and some birthday fun. It made my birthday even better being able to spend it with The Tallboy's too.

Girls, again.

We ended the night at Spinozi's, formally Stroker's and Scooters and Hooters. It's a biker bar that has changed several times over the years. It is certainly more upscale now than ever, but it still has live music and a great atmosphere.

Julie and I were trying to take a pic together, but the boys would not stop trying to "ruin" it. This is the best one we got.

Saturday morning we headed to Outlaw Country for the fish fry I requested.
Cole had to ride the golfcart, first thing. Papa was working the steering wheel and let Cole work the gas pedal...and he had it pushed all the way to the floor. What you can't see in these pictures was the turn coming up.
This was right after Cole went flying out the side of the golfcart when Papa took that turn. I think he rolled head over feet at least 3 times. Luckily, the ground was soft and he was fine. Although, he certainly milked it with Nana for a long time.
He wouldn't get back on the golfcart without Nana after his tumble.
I guess he got over his fear.
Faron was in charge of the calf fry's.
Sorry if these pics gross anyone out. I didn't know what they looked like and thought other people might be curious too.
Cole discovered he really likes pickles...like mother, like son.
...and the juice, too.

Calf fry's, fish, french fries, red beans and hush puppies...YUM-O!
I requested Apicot Nectar Cake for my birthday cake. Nanny Mary Lee even made it a couple days early so it would get good and soggy. The soggier, the better. I'll post the recipe later.

Thank you to all my family and friends who made my birthday a wonderful one. I am truely blessed to have so many caring people in my life.
