Why Didn't I Think of That...Plant Tip

Here's another good idea...I don't have a green thumb and therefore don't have any plants at my house, but maybe some of you can use this one...

O Happy Day...

Let's get ready for some football...
BOOMER SOONER!!!

POPS - ROUTE 66

Last weekend we took a trip to Arcadia to Pops on Route 66. It is a gas station/diner that has become an historic landmark.

There are over 400 soda pops to choose from...It's really overwhelming trying to figure out what flavor you want.

I wanted a Root Beer or Cream Soda. The website says there are over 43 varities of Root Beer and over 50 varities of Cream Soda...See why I was overwhelmed.

This is a 66-foot soda pop bottle that is out front of the gas station. Look close, Cole is at the bottom...

Cole really liked his Root Beer...
Again he was asleep before we got out of the parking lot...Another successful trip!

YUM-O!!! *Rice Krispy Treats*

Rice Krispy Treats/Honey Nut Cheerio Treats

1 - 10oz pkg marshmallows
6 cups cereal

Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
And cereal and stir until well coated.
Using a buttered spatula or wax paper, press mixture evenly into a 13x9x2-inch bakink dish coated with cooking spray. Cut into 2-inch sqaures when cool. Best if served the same day.

For best results, use fresh marshmallows.
1 - 7oz jar marshmallow creme can be substituted for marshmallows.

OKC ZOO TRIP

A few weekends ago, Faron and I took Cole to the Zoo.

Father and son having a moment...

"Where did the Gorilla's go?"

This was the funniest thing I've seen in awhile. The big Silverback Gorilla came running down the hill and just stopped right at the glass and stood and stared right at Cole for about a minute. Cole let out a sqeel and tried to crawl up his Daddy to get away.

The stare down...

He fell asleep before we even got out of the parking lot. It was a successful trip...

Smurf Village

After all the rain we got last week, our yard exploded with fungi. I kept watching for those little blue creatures to appear...

Starting early...

It' never too early to start hitting the books...

YUM-O!!! *Grilled Okra*

GRILLED OKRA
Jr and Amy definitely get credit for this one, but I just have to spread the word.
Drizzle a little olive oil and whatever seasoning you like (they used Tony's) and grill 2-3 minutes a side. The key is to use the little, tender okra.
This stuff is sooooo good.

Major Meltdown...

This is what happens when Cole only gets a 20 minute nap at daycare...

Needless to say, he went to bed a little early Friday night.

Cookie Monster...

Keeping a very close eye on Wheeler...
I'm still watching you...

Wheeler and Ellee really want Cole to drop that cookie...

Why Didn't I Think of That...Tooth Fairy Jar

Tooth Fairy Jar

I found this idea while doing some blog stalking...A Tooth Fairy Jar. I know Cole is still a while away from loosing his first tooth, but I already don't look forward to touching the little thing. I think I will store this in the back of my brain to use when the time comes...
