Thrifty Thoughts - Half as much...

I've been trying to come up with ways to make our $'s go further lately. One thing I came up with was trying to use half as much...of everything. I know Tide probably paid someone an enormous amount to calculate how much laundry soap it took for a load of clothes (or maybe they just want us to use more of their product so we have to buy more sooner), but I actually think we can get away with using half of what the directions say. So I've been trying it and it works just fine for me. Our clothes are not really dirty so they don't need a bunch of soap. Same with dishwasher detergent, shampoo, etc. I even try to use a dryer sheet twice before I toss it in the garbage. I probably won't see any real noticle difference in the checkbook for awhile but in the long run it should work to our advantage...

Any other ideas for stretching a $?

I've heard that cutting dryer sheets in half is a good idea. I've never taken the time but...

I read this post and I thought what a good idea! I am going to have to think about somethings--but I will get back with you. I did cut my dryer sheets in half and it took about 1 minute--great idea!
