Baby Ryan Update: Day 37
Ryan is still doing good...Urology is going to do a procedure on Tues to check the hole in his bladder...we should hopefully get to go home Wed...Thank you for you love, support and prayers...

Baby Ryan Update: Day 34
Ryan is still making really good progress...feedings up to 40-45cc...no more feeding tube...iv fluids will be cut in half today...pain meds turned off completely...and for his 5 week birthday he even got moved into a "big boy bed" (crib) and a shirt...the plan is still to go home the first part of next week...thank you for your love, support and prayers...

Baby Ryan Update: Day 32
Ryan is still doing good...Drs increased his minimum feeding from 20cc to 25cc but he is actually taking 30cc...Urology came in this morning and pulled the 2 tubes he had in his ureters/kidneys...he still has the one tube in his bladder and the foley catheter...just talked to Dr Tuggle - if we can get feedings up to 60cc (2 oz) every 3 hours we can go home...probably Mon or Tues next week...HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

Baby Ryan Update: Day 31
He had a really good day...eating went well last night and today...increased from 15cc to 20cc and he's been able to keep it all down...he's even been hungry before it's actually time to eat and been crying to let us know about it...gonna talk to Drs tomorrow about what goals we need to meet to go home...thank you for your love, support and prayers...

Baby Ryan Update: Day 29
He is still a little up & down with his feedings...one will go really well then the next time he'll throw up quite a bit...Drs say his system is just not moving very fast yet and need to take it slow and be patient...all labs are back in normal range...YEAH!!!...Oh, and Big Brother is coming to visit Ryan tomorrow...it's been a month since Cole has seen him...

Baby Ryan Update: Day 28
Ryan had a pretty good day...however Momma did not...I caught a stomach bug and spent all night in the bathroom...I'm feeling better but decided to stay away from hospital today...Ryan's labs are continuing to get better...started small feedings again this afternoon...so far so good...3 pm & 6 pm feeding went well...

Baby Ryan Update: Day 25
Yesterday we had a little bump...kidney function was high...did ultrasound...everything checked out great...the pain/soreness from all 3 surgeries hit Ryan like a Mack truck yesterday...he was screaming uncontrollably...scared the crap out of me...gave him a little pain meds and finally calmed down and had a really good night...Dr came in this morning...gonna get to feed him today...start with pedialyte at 11 then breast milk every 3 hours...thank you for your love, support and prayers...

Baby Ryan Update: Day 22
He is only on one pain med...vent is only on 10 (very low setting)...he gained a whole pound yesterday and his abdomen is swollen some so we are just gonna watch him another day to see if his body starts processing the fluid normally...also gonna keep him on the vent until tomorrow...I GOT TO HOLD HIM FOR ABOUT AN HOUR THIS MORNING AND IT WAS GREAT!!!...

Baby Ryan Update: Day 21
Ryan is mostly just resting comfortably today with the help of some pain meds...Dr just came by and said as long as he has a good night tonight the game plan will be to wean him off the pain meds and vent tomorrow...oh please, oh please...I might get to hold him by Saturday...

Baby Ryan Update: Day 20
3rd surgery lasted over 3 hours...he has a pretty bad hole in the bottom side of his bladder from catheter from 1st surgery...he now has 3 tubes coming directly from his bladder out his abdomen to hopefully allow hole to heal on it's own...tubes will allow urine out into a bag instead of leaking into his abdomen...could take 8 weeks or more to heal...he will be on vent for a few more days...he seems to be in a lot of pain...I'm trying to get him some pain meds...Mommy is not doing so good this time around...thank you for your love, support and prayers...

Baby Ryan Update: Day 20 - Surgery #3 - Bladder Repair
Please continue the prayers...Ryan is going back in for his 3rd surgery...test results came back on the fluid that has been leaking from his abdomen has been urine...and after a test on his bladder & kidneys this morning they found a hole in his bladder...not sure how long surgery will be but will let you know when he's out...

Baby Ryan Update: Day 19
Yes, I ventured out in the Blizzard of 2011...the roads from the hotel to hospital weren't too bad...Ryan had a really good night and is having a really good day..he is only on one pain med now and it's a really low dose...his fluid output is decreasing...urine output is increasing...setting on vent turned down to 20...these are all really good things...and in Mommy's expert opinion he looks much better...Drs are kinda scare today so maybe tomorrow we can take him off the vent...
